As a delegate at NMUN, you automatically agree to follow our Code of Conduct. This code is designed to foster a welcoming and academically productive environment for everyone. Failure to comply with the code will lead to consequences, which could include offering an apology, temporary suspension from speaking, or even removal from the conference. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at nmunsec@gmail.com. The secretariat and staff team of NMUN strives to maintain a friendly and welcoming academic environment, and will address any questions or concerns if emailed.
Delegate Code of Conduct
Delegates must use language and maintain behaviour that is respectful and appropriate at all times. Failure to meet this standard may result in dismissal from the conference. Actions that violate this rule include disrespecting and not listening to the secretariat and/or staff, constantly interrupting other delegates, bullying, vandalizing, using derogatory or discriminatory language, and possessing and/or using illegal drugs, alcohol, or vaping devices.
Dress Code
The dress code for DBMUN is Western Business Attire to maintain a professional environment within the committee room. This includes dress shirts, blouses, skirts, dresses, blazers, etc.
Technology Policy
Electronic devices such as tablets and laptops are permitted at the conference. However, Wi-Fi access will be restricted during committee sessions. Delegates in general and intermediate assemblies will be given Wi-Fi access only during resolution writing, while delegates in advanced committees will not have access to Wi-Fi at any time. We expect delegates to do their research before the conference, as well as download or print all needed materials. We ask delegates to refrain from using personal data or the school Wi-Fi outside of predetermined times. To keep focus and to provide a more equitable experience, usage of AI tools such as ChatGPT, games, and other related platforms or apps is strictly prohibited and may result in dismissal from the conference by committee staff.
Awards Policy
Awards will be given based on a delegate's ability to effectively debate, negotiate, and overall contribute to the committee. Awarding decisions aided by a scoring rubric are at the sole discretion of the committee staff and are final.
