Kal is a high school senior at Dover Bay secondary in Nanaimo. He is thrilled to serve as the Director for the European Union at Nanaimo Model United Nations 2025. He first began his Model UN journey in 11th grade when he joined Dover Bay’s club out of the interest in creating a global catastrophe, and he has never been able to escape since. He very much enjoys debate and coming up with creative solutions. Outside of Model UN, Kal can be found screaming his guts out on stage with his metal band, terrifying his friends with his music taste, scaling the side of a crane, or napping in abandoned buildings. All in all, he is excited to serve as the director for the EU committee in this iteration of NMUN.
Minhao is a grade 12 currently attending Aspengrove School and she is honoured to be chairing for the European Union Committee at NMUN 2025. Her first ever conference was hosted by Dover Bay and she is so thrilled to be back — but this time, as a member of the staff. She adores the way Model UN combines her passions of debate, international relations, and research. Outside of MUN-related activities, she can be found drawing, drinking bubble tea, petting her cat, cutting her own bangs, or having an existential crisis (the last 2 are only somewhat related). She is excited to witness how delegates will grow and discover throughout the conference!
Helen, a Grade 11 student at Dover Bay Secondary School, is delighted to serve as the Assistant Director of the EU for NMUN 2025. Her journey in Model UN began in her 9th year of high school, where she attended her first conference, anxiously delivered countless speeches, and eventually found herself captivated by the fast-paced environment of committees and thought-provoking topics. Outside of Model UN, Helen enjoys crying to Billie Eilish songs, procrastinating on her chemistry homework, and producing music on her MacBook. She is excited to meet all the delegates at NMUN 2025 and hopes everyone has a wonderful experience!
